Easy html image question

I'm trying to get the same background image effect as

www.tv.com

i know how to make a background image, but it will repeat over and over, how do i get the neat gradient on tv.com

Not exactly sure what you mean?? Just have a to where the image doesn't repeat?

I think SecondVersion has gotten it, but my way was a little different, let me try to explain...

You use the code above, and then whatever the bottom color is, that's what your BG color should be. Example --- you have a gradient from top to bottom, #000000 to #ffffff so the background color will be #ffffff...

Makes sense?

No not a good idea to do that. :P
Add this to the body tag if you want repeated content as well. But CSS may be better for this.
