Duplicate Content?

Yesterday, I was searching the web for some game cheats and I realized that over 20 top gaming websites have completely the same game cheats (CONTENT)!

I know many people have asked this question,but...I need the right answer!How can they stay on top if they don't have unique content?

Because they do have some other content which is unique

The main reason is probably due to the structure of the content and the path's that they have created could be considerably different. Also the content would generally be displayed differently and the web sites have gone out there and probably did the hard yards (obtaining quality one-way links & have likely built up a good Internet history over the years, thus becoming an authority web site.)

So generally with all those points in your favour, you can have duplicate content and get away with it.

i don't think Google would ban you just for having same content here and there. Only if you have identical pages with all same content, and code.

adding some inhouse comments and feedback to it, breaks the "duplicate" impression on it.

Adding good comments to content - to avoid duplicate content.

Usually, small sites get hit by duplicate content penalty. It is because google considers the total amount of content in a site and the duplicate content. If there is a high proportion of duplicate content in a site then google will penalize it.

this is a good post.. i think games cheats steps can not be altered so i guess that doesn't count for a duplicate..

The pages and end code maybe different, they have unique content also. Newspapers are another example of where duplicate articles can be in mutiple places and do not effect there search engine ratings due to page structure and additional content.
