Dreamweaver - Overwriting Template Locking?

OK, here's the story. Me and my brother worked a site (www.wensleydale-galleries.co.uk) and he had the files for the site. Now, he didn't backup his computer and something went wrong and he lost all his data - including the files for Wensleydale Galleries and the templates :(

Now, I need to change the name of the company who designed that site from "FusionCre8 Studios" to "Rednerve". I downloaded the .htm files off the server, but, obviously, these didn't come with templates.

I tried doing Find + Replace on the whole site but it gives me the error that it cannot change the text because it is locked by a template (a template that I don't have so can't unlock that region).

What I am asking is if there is any way to get around this by overwriting template locking or something like that or anything else? I really need to change this!

I am using Dreamweaver 8 but I'm not sure it would make that much of a difference what version you use, solutions for older versions should work for 8?

Hope you can understand my problem and know a solution. If you have any questions, please ask!

Thanks,

Will.

Well, if you downloaded htm(l) files, then there should be no PHP involved. That being said, I'm not sure how there can be a template system.. If anything, the entire file is locked (which I have seen). See if you can copy/paste any of the HTML, if not, you might have to copy it by hand onto a new, separate HTML file. Normally the logo and whatnot is done with an image, so you will need to find the image and replace it with your company logo.

I hope this helps.

EDIT: here is a site I found. http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.asp?p=30883&rl=1

You can probably just copy the code onto notepad and remove those locking tags, and you should be set.

No, originally the site was built using a template system which locks certain pieces of HTML code in the .html files unless you edit the template. We lost the templates when the data was lost and we didn't upload them to the site so we lost them. Now, the part that I want to edit was originally locked by the template and, without the template I cannot edit it.

Manually changing the code of the site would take a long time because there are a lot of pages so I'm wondering if there's anyway to overwrite template locking to do the Find + Replace idea ?

Does this clear things up?
