Now that web3 domain names start to really be a thing and, in regards to some popular niche like dotshm and dotnames.me, I was wondering how you, fellow Nameproers, would you appraise my old dotnames.com ?

I asked siri and she is confused. Sounds ugly, I wouldn't even consider regging it

Thanks. Very interesting point of vue and appraisal.
Considering the number of offers I received the last 20 years, I am not sure your valuation seems correct / justified.
But it's part of the game. Everyone values a property regarding to his own criteria.

Taken in 13 extensions according to DotDB. Part of a bunch of other domain strings. The hyphen version is taken in .com. Some of the other extensions are developed - I don't know if it's by you, though I do see that your .com redirects to the .me site so I'm assuming that one's yours as well. Are the other ext yours as well? I didn't check. If they're not yours, that increases the buyer pool and slightly increases your value. If they're all owned by you, that of course decreases the buyer pool and value by a little.

Regged since 1999. Lots of sales for keyword 'names', and 'dot' is not hot but is still pretty good as a keyword for anything related to domains. Your domain would be especially attractive to someone who wishes to start a registrar or marketplace.

I'd say your current asking price is realistic, but on the high side of realistic, for a very motivated end user buyer. My guess is you've probably received a bunch of lowball offers over the years, in the xxx range, and maybe a few not-quite-so-lowball offers, in the low x,xxx range, by domain investors looking to resell. As a reseller I'd probably offer in the low x,xxx range as well.

You'd probably find quite a few takers in the 5K range. With your current price... you might be holding on to it for many more years. However, as I said, I think your current sticker price is still within the high-but-realistic end user price realm... just have to hope for that unicorn end user :)

Nice name. Lots of uses, and a very slick name to brand within the domaining industry. Good luck!

Thank you very much for the time you took to give me a sincere appraisal. Really appreciated.
If you are referring to my signature, I never modified it for years... ^^
Actually, you are totally right with the offers I received for the last decades.
I only opened this thread because I started to wonder how this domain name value could evolve with the current web3 domain names hype and the fact the regular term used for them seems to be "dotnames". But you already gave me an interesting insight. Thanks again.

$95 to $495 = Reseller Value Speculation (NOT an end user speculation)
