It is not necessarily true that a Dot US Domain can only be registered by a US Resident only.

I am not a US Resident, but I have registered appx 100 of Dot Us Domain Names so far. The tricks is that you must own a land, house or company in the US. Although you are not a Us Resident or citizen but you have a business interest in US, that will be the minimum requirement to registered a Dot US Domain.

I certainly agreed with you sdsinc, the Us alone is a big market, but the US people themselves did not embrace on their own TLD.

As for my comment on tricks to Register Dot US for non US Resident, I understand that was not what nexus said, but was base on my personal experienced registering my dot US domain name with OKdaddy ( Wild West Domain Inc which is Godaddy Reseller ). As a non US Resident or Citizen, I own a land and a house in the US and I have business interest in the US.

I have lots of .us names. End-user sales are possible, but development is where it's at with this extension. There doesn't seem to be much of a reseller's market...

Today I picked up GIBill for development. Other than maybe .gov or maybe .mil, I think .us is ideal for this name, though I realize the .com domain would likely hold more resale value (the .com is a pretty well established site anyway).
