Hello,

DoNotBook.com could be a booking platform itself or a booking deals guidance space so you get the best deal. Something like a booking comparison site or App. Or something like an a booking aggregator platform.

DoNotPay.com is doing very well and DoNoTSell.com is sold $4,695

Estipot said $620

How much you think?? Thank you

Agree that the best use is as a negative review, consumer advocacy site.

I typed it in to see what your lander looks like. After 10 seconds i get a connection times out error.
It really only has one way to develop, which is what i would do if, if ,if, if I thought it had value.
If you build it out and if you get traffic, if you convert traffic to usd, if all the stars align you have a winner.

Thank you Zilla, you have a good website, I'm seriously thinking of developing my domain as well. I wanted to hear your price estimate of the domain as a domain and as a developed website , thank you.

@lyman - It doesn't seem like you want an honest appraisal. It sounds like you're more interested in confirmation of your own bias toward this name.

The name has a lot of issues that hurt its value:
  • It was registered only two months ago
  • It's not registered in any other extension
  • No existing businesses or websites contain this term
  • Its meaning is negative (as others have mentioned)
Could it be used to post negative travel reviews? Sure, but no one is going to pay much money for that kind of domain name, especially when sites like TripAdvisor are already well established.

Comparing to DoNotPay.com doesn't make sense. Not paying for something is a good thing. People love not paying.

Comparing to DoNotSell.com doesn't make sense either. Their main site is a .org, since this is a non-profit initiative. Do you know how much they paid to acquire the .com name? If you could find out, then that might be a good place to start to assess the value of your name, but it would only be a start. Many other factors would need to be considered, and I suspect they didn't pay that much for it anyway.

I would list the name at $999 for the year, and I wouldn't personally renew it. You might make a lucky sale, but remember that this name sat deleted for six years before you bought it. For six years, anyone could have had it for $10, and no one registered it.

As @MasterOfMyDomains said, you ultimately need to do what you believe is best, but all data and common sense is against you on this one.

If you develop the name, whatever value you get will be based purely on the quality and money-making potential of the site. It will have nothing to do with the quality of the domain itself. These are two very different questions, and this appraisal section focuses only on domain name quality alone.

Good luck with it!

Thank you very much for the deep and detailed comment

If I ever wanted just to confirm my own thoughts about my domain then I wouldn’t be here seeking an advice and that is regardless on how I behave back to your reviews considering there will never be a confirmed and final review for a domain otherwise who will pay a penny for Facebook.com as a domain if it just offered for sale today!!

Let’s study your conditions but from a different angle:

  • It was registered only two months ago/ So you here agree that more the domain will get older the more it will be more valuable and that’s why I’ll renew it for solid 10 years.
  • It's not registered in any other extension/ Deals are found by one man then the others follow him usually and while I can register the rest of extensions right now but I’ll never do because .com is the master and others are slave as you surely know and if I got the .com deal I will be happy to let the others for the others.
  • No existing businesses or websites contain this term/ That’s a strong 💪 point for me not against so I can say I have something very unique and first time to be!
  • Its meaning is negative (as others have mentioned)/ negative is not always bad and I agree that it might needs time to be true but people are usually like to engage it if you say no or don’t and that’s the point where they will like to see what’s in if you say Don’t Book and once they are in it means much for business and the rest can be done more easy.

  • I'm happy when you say that my domain won’t get much interest when sites like TripAdvisor are exist because here you categorized my domain of the same niche of the giant TripAdvisor and that’s means much of 💵 to me

  • Yes you can easily compare the domain to DonotSell and DonotPay because it has the same idea, will you ever be happy or like to buy/and pay for a bad flight/ tour/ trip/ travel/ hotel/ resort/restaurant and maybe a doctor or even a nanny, surely no, so as if you can see DoNotBook can cover more and more areas of business than any one else.

  • Really thanks for your interaction as a big and experienced domainer and I highly appreciate you care and time you gave to me and very sure I have much to learn and that’s why I’m here :)

Domain age does not add value. It is only an indication of potential value. The fact that you recently registered the name is important because it has been available to register for six years, and no one wanted it.

Having something unique is not a strong point for you unless that thing it is in high demand. This domain is not in demand at all.

Being in the same niche as TripAdvisor is not a good thing unless there is a lot of demand for travel review domain names. There is very little demand for these names, and your name is limited in scope because it only alludes to negative reviews. Businesses do not want names that limit their ability to grow.

Ok 👌 let’s speak more strategically as seen you like it as I really do:

For the first time I’d say that the domain actually is not locked to only negative reviews as what you and @MasterOfMyDomains thought but it can be a Book (a normal reference book) of any advice starting with Do Not, and here it can swallow any type of business and life aspect starting from Do Not Pay/Sell/Book/Buy/Swimm/Repair/Shop/Dance/Go/Back/Write/Conment/Love/Marry/Eat/Drink/.....and Die

This way it will totally become a positive website that delivers a valuable advices in almost every business and every aspect in daily life and you can imagine how happy will be a someone who hesitating of getting a new car 🚙 of finding areal experience advice saying to him Do Not Buy X made cars because it heat up and blow up in the summer along with some pictures of a car in fire🔥

We are out of scope limitation now, will that bring a huge value to the domain?

No, that doesn't bring any value to the name. It's just an idea for how it could be developed.

You're not selling business ideas. You're selling a name. What matters is how many people would want it for their own business ideas.

Looking at Donotpay or sell, your domain could be similarly used to create some kind of awareness or as a complaint cell for booking frauds.
Are you sure the comment above is not maliciously attacking “Booking.Com” now?

I’m really confused now, don’t you said “
and your name is limited in scope because it only alludes to negative reviews. Businesses do not want names that limit their ability to grow.” ??

Based on my last reply and the usage idea of the domain I explained I thought that we really opted out of the scope limitation so normally it will return some value for the domain it self not the business idea!!

When some have a business idea he try his best to get the relative domain name and will pay for the domain as much as he believes in his idea so when a domain such mine who have a huge business ideas (as above explained and I can give more) it should be paid well by some one, that’s what I learned here since five years... but you don’t agree!!

You're kind of getting into semantics here...

You seem to believe very strongly in the value of the name, so my suggestion is to go out there and sell it. We learn by doing. Some people don't take constructive criticism well. If you're one of those people then prove the criticism wrong.

Read up our discussion and you will clearly see who is trying to only confirm his own thoughts while I was trying to be constructive based on your given opinion.

I’m speaking logically and I know that logically don’t always wins.

Thank you.

At the end of the day, all that matters is if you're happy with the results of your work and investments.

If you believe strongly enough in your names to argue their merits, don't ask for appraisals.

Really strange, I saw domains here which already got tons of offers of millions of dollars and their owners came here to take appraisals, and maybe you were one of those who gave an appraisal or a comment for such threads and no one including you told the owner Do Not ask for appraisal here since you know the value of your domain!!

Any way, I’m now inspired to make one of my future website categories (The Do Not Book) as: Do Not put your domain for appraisal because it could be strange for some one if you do! 😳
