It's time for the Indian domaining conference DomainX.

DomainX is going to be held in Delhi on 5th August, 2017.

I have been attending the conference since its inception. It has definitely been a great place to network, meet new domainers and people from blogging and Internet marketing industry as well.

Featuring speakers like Ali Zandi, Jon Yau and representative from Uniregistry among many others, I am looking forward to attending the conference.

The complete details of the conference is available on DomainXevents

Will you be there at the event?
Let's catch up in case you are attending the event.

Sounds like fun, but rather than going to the conference in Indiana, I am going to look into the conference in Vegas!

Guess the "NA" is N/A to India . . . ;)

I hope that is as funny to you as it is me, but sometime/oftentimes my humor does not translate!

Speaking of humor . . . At the casinos I like to talk with people. There was one day these two guys that were both from India were talking in their own language. Well whenever I hear people talking in a foreign language I ask them, "What is that Spanish?" Unless they are speaking Spanish, then I use a different language. So I asked them, What is that Spanish? They looked at me like, you dumb blank blank. Then I cracked a smile, and they busted out laughing!

You got to meet and network with people to make them aware of your humour IMO

Don't get me wrong but I guess Indian market is still pretty immature for this field.
Such events have minimal impact.
Startups/companies just don't want to upgrade to a better name.
In last couple of months, I dealt with 3 MNCs of India and all turned down an offer to upgrade to a better name, including one very big name.
This goes for every business in India as well and hence I don't see any value in such events or in the Indian extensions like .in and .co.in

You are quite wrong in assuming that Hemant.

Now you don't get me wrong here please but you simply need better names to convince people to buy them.

I sell .in names every month and to Indian businesses and many others do too, so I am not sure where you got that Indian businesses aren't upgrading or not paying much.

I as a Domain Consultant have rebranded over dozens of companies who have paid over 5 figure USDs each time to get their .com or .in

Startups/companies just don't want to upgrade to a better name.

Again wrong. Just last week, I got AutoYard.com for one of my clients based out of New Delhi and they spent high 4 figures USD to acquire that name through me.

I will repeat, try investing in good names and build a better portfolio so that you do not have to reach out to endusers. Let them come to you!

Strategize better, or attend an event like this and you will learn all these strategies by meeting people and talking to them.

Good luck!

Those were not my names. Those were exact name matching .com ones, even matching their stock market symbol !!

looks like you didn't do your homework right before reaching out to them brother. Try again, and don't base your research on mere 3 companies :)

I've packed my bags (actually that's not true - I've taken my bags out, I need to get myself organised and packed) and I am ready to fly to Delhi! Woo hoo!

It's my second DomainX and I can't wait to meetup with the many friends I made last year (esp. Manmeet @Soofi and Gaurav).

Far from being a speaking engagement, this trip is an opportunity to listen.

India, like any other country, has an emerging tech and online industry. And as with other countries, the mainstream is still grappling with how to work with the web. It's not better or worse. There will always be opportunities and pitfalls no matter where you are.

India interests me as there have been some large macro-economic changes of late and I believe there will be room for some growth in the next decade. (And growth will be hard to come by, in this low interest rate environment)

From a strictly domain names perspective, I'm no fanboy but I have a few solid .co.ins :) They may not have the same price points and stability of the .coms but if the economy grows - will they be talking about Indian buyers like they talk about Chinese investors in a few years/decades? I'm not betting the farm but I've hedged my bets :)
