DeletedDomains is definitely the king of free expired domain lists. However I found DomainToolbox to be very useful because you can select the text-only format and put tens thousands of names per page so you can easily analyze the list later using some software later.

The problem is that names in DomainToolbox's list seem not to be in DeletedDomains list and vice versa. Sorry for being so stupid but are expired domain lists different by every vendor? So that DD has many domains that DomainToolbox doesn't have and vice versa?

Domains all delete the same. They are all dropped/deleted by the registry not by individual registrars.

I meant that although the list of dropped names is the same, maybe different websites are analyzing it differently or sth and the final lists they have ontheir websites are different?

Or are all lists by DD, DomainSpot, Exody etc identical and the only difference is how often they renew them?

Hi Cross.
Of the list providers mentioned Exody is in my opinion the best and up to date. As for the difference of lists from one provider to another I think your right in your assumption. The difference is how often their updated.
