I get my .name domains from them. The control panel is plain but functional, and tech support took a bit over 24 hours to respond. Overall, they're not bad.

Be very careful with their availability check. They practically wiped out my available credit with pre-authorization charges that took like two weeks to clear out. The names were not actually available but they reported them as able to register.

Also they are not really a reseller's registrar (but good for .name price I agree)

ps. should this thread really be under Industry News or rather domain discussions?

I have a few names over there(yes .name). The control panel is very funky(in a bad way). I raised an issue over forwarding on a Friday morning and I got a response Monday afternoon, not extactly "Awesome Support". Anyway they are good for .name mainly just for the price I would never put my portfolio there.

is this registrar backed by a reputable company?

It was founded by a guy named Rick Zamboni. The original owners put domainsite up for sale on one of these buy/sell business exchanges for $350,000.

I think it was purchased by the current management about a year ago. I think the current management either worked/is affiliated with snapnames or was involved with them at one point. I think they used to be a "strategic" snapnames partner before jumping to pool

I have regg'd several .name domains here. I agree w/ previous points that have been made. There were names showing available that weren't (in my case, names reserved/outside parameters set by registrar ie 123.name, com.name, etc ). Support lagged a bit, but when email arrived, it was thorough and informative. Additionally, pricing for .name is best I've seen. (Tx Armstrong).

I agree with Grrilla and Armstrong -- DomainSite is great for .name domains right now...
