Domains with high overture

Hi,
While trying to snag a few domains, I came across on that has an overture of over 30,000. Its long (4 words or 17 characters), but is a .com. How accurate do you think overture is? Is this a good investment? Thanks for your help and sorry if this should be in domain newbie section.

I also found a 3 letter .name with an overture of 20,000. What are your thoughts?

Sounds good, try Wordtracker to see if you've got the exact phrase that's being searched. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that OVT will not distinguish between singular-plural, and word order.

You might also want to check it with the AdWords keyword tool (if you have access) to see the phrase's relative search popularity.

If you've got a .com with 30,000 OVT searches for the exact phrase, I'd venture to say it's definitely worth regging right away. If the domain sounds good it's probably worth regging even if the OVT score is somehow exaggerated.

Could also check it's domain score at premiumdomain.com.

How many Google results for the term in "" as in "domain name"? Any OVT with the exact domain name, i.e. "domainname" instead of "domain name".

Are any other TLD or country codes taken? If so, even more suggestive of value.

Once you reg it, let us know what it is. Or, if you want, you can PM me the domain, and I'll do some research for you and report back with the results and my recommendation, you have my word I won't reg it.

I decided to register it:
lcdflatscreentvs.com

I figured $7 isnt that much and it was worth the try.

There some great LLL.names that I might register, but an still debating. Thanks for the help and let me know what you think.

I found a TON of premium .sc domains that are singular... (i.e. soccer.sc) could mean Soccer Source. what are your thoughts on these types of domains? Thanks.

I decided to register it:

Nice keywords, over 1000 OVT per day for the keywords. However this name is a bit of a disappointment for me because:

-the s in the end
-Only 22,400 Google results
-searches are done in singular according to wordtracker

Right now I'd appraise this as: Reg fee

I figured $7 isnt that much and it was worth the try.

Worry not - I think it's worth $7, maybe you can sell it for low $xx so you'll get your money back if it doesn't perform. See if there are any type-ins.

Probably not, unless it's a single word name or a celebrity name, in which case, maybe.

Wow, thanks a bunch! I was thinking the plural tvs would make it more valuable for a store. I have started using the digitalpoint tool - thanks!
So far I have a list of about 15, mostly .sc, names that are 1 or 2 word and have an wordtracker of over 30,000 (some even over 100,000). Im debating registering these...

edit: found a 3 word .sc that has a wordtracker of 350,00 and overture of over 500,000. Do you think its worth anything?

Thanks for the kind words! Cant decided if I should throw up amazon affiliate and sell tvs or if I should throw it up for sale.

Im hoping some of these .sc's Im going to register here in the next few days are going to be worth mid $XXX. We'll see.
