Please checkout my new extension for Firefox 3:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7492

Basically, as you're surfing around, the tool will gather all of the domain names on the the sites you're visiting and export them to a text file. You can then check that text file for available domain names using your favorite tool!

==Some rough instructions, a better readme will be created soon!==

Note: Must use Firefox 3 since the script uses FF3's new database features

Either open the file immediately with firefox when the window pops up or download the file and open it with FF using File->Open.

Restart FF after installing.

DomainNameFox is running when the square in the tray is lit up green. Red means it is disabled. Grey means it is disabled for that particular site.

In the firefox menubar, click on Tools->DomainNameFox to see some options

On the first tab, enter the extensions you would like to limit the tool to finding.

The second tab allows you to enter sites you do not wish to be crawled. The option at the bottom (https will keep secure sites from being crawled, since you may not want a script reading your bank account info, for example)

Click OK and just try searching Google for anything. The tray should tell you something like C:10 T:10 meaning 10 domains were found on the Current page, 10 Total are in the database.

Click the green icon to toggle the status, add/remove a site from the blocklist, change the scavenging mode (see below) or export the database.

To see the names that were harvested, select the Export DB to Text File option from this popup menu.

Open the file using a text editor (notepad)

The tray should now read T:0

The different scavenging modes are "Extract domains from: Text, Links, or both"

The link harvesting is relatively fast, while Text parsing and the "both" option will be a bit slower, especially if on a huge page.

Thanks!
