DomainName.com for Sale

Premier 'Address' Hits the Auction Block

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - August 19, 2010) - DomainConsultant.com today announced it is holding a private auction for perhaps the best 'domain name' in the multi-billion dollar internet address industry: www.DomainName.com.

"It means instant entry and share of the domain registration market, which manages roughly 150 million names worldwide," says Mike Fiol, Managing Director of DomainConsultant.com, a 'collective' of successful market veterans.

With fees ranging from $7 to $35 annually, domain registrations have emerged as a mammoth segment with high-profile firms such as Network Solutions, GoDaddy, Enom and Register.com reaping the benefits of subscriptions and peripheral services such as hosting, email and privacy.

"In the history of domain names, there is one sub-group that has always made money: registrars," adds Fiol, whose group has overseen the sale/acquisition of close to $40 million in internet property since the late 1990's. "DomainName.com puts you right in that big registration pie."

The name will be auctioned at an undisclosed location with pre-screened bidders. Interested parties should visit www.domainconsultant.com before August 31st.for more details

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a singular property," concludes Fiol. "And once it's gone, it's gone for good."

I know it's not much of a 'site' but I wonder if the registrar is sold with the domain.. exisiting customers? I would think there are a few.

I read that article earlier along with an article from the NY Daily Times titled "Dot com bust: XXX.com, Alcohol.com among unsold names at DomainFest New York"

Some interesting reading...

Anyone want to take a guess at what will happen with DomainName.com? I'll start the auction off with $1.

DomainName.com Domain and Registrar Sells
DomainConsultant.com reports that domain sold during auction today. DomainConsultant.com, which organized an auction today for DomainName.com, is reporting that the name has sold. Due to non-disclosure requests on both sides, we unfortunately cannot publish buyer or final selling price. We can tell you that, as predicted, DomainName....

Thanks bacmanov! I read the article just before I logged in. I will be curious to see what leeks out from other bidders as to what the figures being thrown around were.

Fantastic deal for the owners! Namecheap is a huge domain reseller, and I'm sure profitable, so they can easily turn DomainName.com into another great competing registrar!
