Ok, guys I'm new to this and was considering getting in on DomainClout.com, which is a monthly fee for access to domains you can sell (along with being able to set up a "domain selling" site, run by Gene Pimentel, as well as Estibot (I like the fact it finds potential buyers and can contact them for me (using my own written emails natch).

My question is: would this be a good way to get started? Tons of videos in the members area, and Gene has been "domaining" for 9 years or so, so he's a pro and a very patient guy with questions to boot! Am willing to learn just wondering if this could shorten the curve a tad.

No offense to the persons involved in those sites, but making money in this industry is not easy. That's why so many people are selling picks and shovels to the gold diggers (aka domainers).
Domaining is hard work, do not expect somebody to spoon-feed you.

The very first skill you need to acquire is to understand what makes a domain valuable. In other words, a domain sell because it is a quality domain and somebody wants to buy it. Not because it comes from a specific seller or venue.

Is this an advertisement for Gene or are you really trying to learn?

i couldn't have said it better!

domaining to some extent, has become like a circus

picture this:

as you walk down different domain pathways in this game, you'll see many "side-shows".

hawkers selling their wares, carnivals, festivals, domain shows and conventions.

it's very easy for a newbie to get caught up in the bright lights, that get "shown on others" whicht make them seem bigger than life in your newbie eyes.

one can be in the domain game 10 years and never make any money selling domain names.

but if they can "sell you the dreams" of being sucessful, then mo money for them.

those monthly fees you would be paying, could go towards some domain acquisitions for yourself.

disclaimer: no offense intended to anyone who thinks we are talking about them.

Very good question. Did you do a search on Google for domainclout? The top few hits are mainly people on forums like this one asking if anyone is using domainclout. If there were more users, there should be more discussion and questions answered, yes?

The price point seems steep, without any great buzz about the product. There is a 30 day guarantee of satisfaction, though. So how can you lose, except for the time you would invest, and the cost of missing out on other opportunities.

Domain Clout

Had joined Gene's service before it became domain clout and it was much much cheaper. Sold about two or so. But $79/month seems steep especially when I cannot get a peek at the quality of domains offered
