domain Domain with high backlinks, help needed!

Hi there,
I found this domain digitalrivercontent.net it has a very high backlinks quantity with other metrics high as well, i wanted to ask if backlinks matters really or not, its been listed for $3200 in gname, is it reasonable to buy it?

I checked semrush for info www(dot)semrush(dot)com/analytics/backlinks/backlinks/?q=digitalrivercontent.net&searchType=domain

Not in my opinion. I don't know much about backlinks and metrics and stuff like that, but at the end of the day I think it's not a good name.

Well i see a lot of subdomains pointing to this domain too via CNAME . I dont want to buy it for its name nor anyone else, but because of these metrics, I would like someone having knowledge of backlinks and stuff to give his/her opinion.
