DOMAIN VERIFICATION

Am new to domaining. This issue has been confusing me. I noticed that most marketplace want the nameserver to point to them or use their name server thereby verification of your domain. And if such nameserver is not used, your domain will not be verified and listed on their market place.
How can one solve the issues of verification? Are you going to be verifying your domain with each marketplace and how one will be doing that, with out change the name server you have input before.
Please big boss in the house, explain it in a simpler way to me.

Not necessarily to change nameservers.
Afternic and sedo gives ownership id which can be added as 3rd nameserver or place as txt record.

Sedo does not have the option of a 3rd verification NS.

Indeed. At Sedo you can use TXT or CNAME based verification for your domains.

Most of the domain marketplaces offer you to verify with either NS, CNAME or TXT records as options for verification.
Some of them just have NS records because they want you to use their lander that they provide by adding NS they can manage the landing page of For Sale.


If you add more than one NS of different marketplaces it can create conflicts in your DNS and might not resolve properly.

Txt records are your best bet. A couple of the registrars even let you apply templates so that you don't have to keep adding them.

Sadly, every registrar's layout is different and if you don't know what a TXT record is, it probably looks intimidating trying to decide whether or not you need a host name and such. It becomes less intimidating over time.
