most registrars allow you to cancel a domain within 5 days. I'm doing my first tasting at godaddy this week.

I read a post by another member a few days back
They were advertising some newly launched tasting service.
Maybe you should try them

Just a heads up that DynaDot has free tasting. PM if you need a referral or any other details.

Good Luck,

Yes, dynadot offers it but they are not giving you a refund.

Instead, they'll just credit it to your balance.

Very good point that I forgot to mention.

Dynadot allows you to prepay so your account has a balance which prevents you from having to go through the payment process every time you purchase a domain. And whether you do this or not, a domain tasting refund will go into that "prepay" account balance.

How much does a domain cost at dynadot? I would like to do tasting that has a simular price point as what I pay at Enom and has push transfers.

How are you tasting at GoDaddy? Bob Parsons is the biggest advocate against tasting...

Ok I signed up and am going to prepay $500 to get the pricing down. Can I blow the entire $500 and then delete before the 5 days are up on the domains I don't want?

Yes, and the money will go back into your account. Just remember that there is no way to withdrawal from you account.

If you intend to just buy a name for 4 days and taste it out and then return the name your going wreck this for everyone and make us all look like bad.

I have returned names due to either not knowing a trademark and couple mis spellings I did

If you just do what your doing they will either do no refund at all or make it a lot shorter.

Thanks in causing more headaches on us who return names couple times a year or the registry and hassles they go through.

Dude, it's not like I can taste that many domains with $500. Sometimes I register a domain and then a day later regret it. My idea is to register some, try and sell em here and if no action I dump them if I don't think I can sell them later.

godaddy would probably be your worst choice for tasting, they have refunded me for a typo mistake and for a trademark mistake but if you are trying to refund a whole batch of domains you may have problems or your refund privilages revoked as the owner of the company is probably the strongest advocate against tasting...

Well live and learn I guess. Fortunately it was only about 5 domains. I guess I'll develop them!
