Anyone here going to the launch of the premier domain name conference for 2005 organized by Name Intelligence, Whois.sc?

I'm in France, as some of you already know ... and therefore I will have to wait for some years and some big sales (very big!) to go to this kind of conferences.

I like the idea of raising funds to give the possibility to -RJ- or one of the admins (as he suggested) to go there.

I'd gladly donate some "low $$" (just PM when it is the moment).

That's not much but if we all do the same ...

IMO it is obvious that it is a good idea : for NP, of course, and therefore for all the members.

Sounds good, I'll put up $500 PayPal as the prize. I'll sponsor the '-RJ- needs a companion to Seattle' raffle. Our words are our honor. Only thing, someone has to volunteer to organize this. How about Gorilla?

The Domain Roundtable 3 Day Agenda is filling out nicely.

Some nice looking topics:
- Panel discussions with CEOs from Network Solutions, Dotster, eNom, Afternic, Moniker, GoDaddy, Sedo and Name Intelligence
- Bob Parson from GoDaddy has a scheduled 75 minute special presentation
- Chris Sheridan from Verisign has his own presentation
- Several legal related speakers covering UDRP's, copyrights, trademarks, etc

I'm looking forward to it.

Is anyone else going or wanting to go? Airfare and hotel rooms are reasonably priced this time of year. I booked my airfare and stay at the Sheridan through Expedia.com for under $500. :tu:

Yeah - Coast to Coast is not my idea of fun travel ATM :bingo: - It does sound like it is shaping into an interesting place to be though ~

Ive never heard of anything like that, people going to conferences about domain names, but totally sounds like a good idea... Get some advertising and promotions, possibly help on domain selling etc....

The main idea is to network/interact with people in the industry. I bet there will be many deals closed and partnerships formed in those couple of days.

Unfortuantely, Duke from DNJournal won't be attending because of family obligations. So in his absense, I'll do my best to report back what happens at the event and share what I learn from the sessions.

If you're trying to raise some NP$, here's an idea: Have RJ put a small report together summarizing the best info of the conference and make it available to the community for a certain amount of NP$. Just my 0.02 NP$...
