Anyone here going to the launch of the premier domain name conference for 2005 organized by Name Intelligence, Whois.sc?

http://www.domainroundtable.com/

It's got a section on new TLDs :) :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Yes, we could all collectively donate to get RJ to go there to promote Namepros. The cost is $550 for Silver Members of whois.sc. Wadya say? :kickass:

Well, if companies like Verisgn will be attending, I'm sure the media will follow. The agenda looks very well planned out and objective.

They say on their website Microsoft and Verisign...

This scares me. What does Microsoft have to do with domains?

They see the importance of domain names? Anyway, this is a leading industry event with a charity proposition, so Bill Gates himself should be there, imho.

This conference definately sounds like something I'd like to participate in. The registration cost is a little steep, but on par with most three day conferences and the agenda looks well planned out.

And 100% of the funds go the Tsunami fund? Count me in. :tu:

Internet Explorer, Outlook, FrontPage, .Net initiative...

Sounds like it would be interesting at the least - So do we start a "-RJ- Goes to the Domain RoundTable Conference" Fund ? lol - Would be nice if a Forum rep went to represent the Community ~ :)

I really appreciate the gesture, but there's no need to start a collection on my behalf. I'll find a way to cover the cost myself.

It's not a bad idea though, because we could raise funds for tsunami charity and get more NamePros participation at the conference. Perhaps the funds could go to helping another NP staffer or senior member attend the event, or even used to sponsor one of the conference event?

If just one could first point out to mesome of the possible advantages of this whole idea.

Well I am glad I came up with this little idea, I meant it too I think would be great.

Rasbelin the benefits ? If you are a hobbyist or a webmaster very little. If you are apart of this industry and have a chance to represent your organization and meet leaders like Verisign and Microsoft and have some say in shaping the industry value is immense.

More members
Hopefully bigger more High profile sales
Greater Ad revenue for the forum owners

Forums are serious business and with someone like RJ there more people will learn it.

They will learn NP just as good as place as SEDO to do Business. IMO

Plus, if you look at the agenda you'll see a lot of information will be shared. This could be a good opportunity for us to learn what's going on and pick things up that can be shared with our entire community.
http://www.domainroundtable.com/agenda.html

And like equity says, the chance for us to network with other industry pros can be beneficial.

They are using 3 conference rooms simultaneously, so you can pick and choose what you want. Looks like ICANN will be there. Ahh, looks like Sleepless in Seattle.
