Domain rental

has anyone had any success with renting domain names out, and what kind of price have you rented them for??

Most of the time it is called leasing. You can be successful doing them, but you need to have a good contract written up. I had a lease all set up for bestwineclub.com but my leasee backed out at the last minute.

Back in those days, I rent ****erz.org for US$3 monthly.

I suppose its an alright idea...however what if you are the leasee and lease from say, Mr X - if your site became "huge" Mr X may take it upon himself to take over and clame it as his.

i wonder if the leasing idea might be good to use like this ...

lease with an option to buy ...

this way you could offer to change dns before you were paid and let companies try your name for less than the full price
