Interesting. If you divide the number of citizens through the number of registratiions for each
countrycode you will found out that(leaving .com apart) the .NL ccTLD has the most registrations
per citizen.

you are right
all numbers should by divided by the respective country's population

I'm not so sure about using that metric to measure domain usage. It ignores the fact that in many mature ccTLD markets there are large direct navigation and parking networks and multiple domain ownership is quite common. There was a breakdown of .eu domain ownership counts on Wikipedia that is a good example of domain ownership in a highly speculated TLD. Genuine ccTLDs (specifically country code TLDs rather than regional TLDs) would not have the same profile.

i am sure that it provides more info than the original stats
and it actually helps to identify these markets

It depends on what kind of stats you are looking at. If you are simply looking at the total number of domains registered then it might put that figure in some context. However if you are looking at a breakdown of a TLD across hosters or nameservers, then it is a very crude metric to use. With the hoster/dns view, it is easier to pick out the parking and direct navigation hosters. That's why I don't particularly think of it as anything more than a very simple metric. Some ccTLD registries like it because it can provide an easily understood figure for the public. But for the domain business, more granulation is required.

I don't think this statistics are up to date.
.cn is second most popular domains in the world.
yes, spammers and criminals love registering .cn because it's cheap.
