I'm looking to add into my program domain registration support to make registering domains much easier straight from within my program. My program is DNFinder soon to go into version 2.0 come this may.

If I use ENOM as the purchase API solution (that is to say the service I use to handle sending purchase requests) what do you think, or do you guys recommend other services?

Positives I see:
- ENOM appears to be a well known Registrar
- Appears to have an API of commands to make registering and sending purchase commands very easy for me to add.

Negatives I see:
- Cost money for the Reseller Program (Raises a red flag in my book)

Best,
- Joe

I am not a big fan of any Reseller programs. I personally would just use affiliates for your purchase requests. Like Moniker or Godaddy. Both have API solutions.

For the domain owner, there can be more issues as well, if the domain is with a reseller account and further problems if it's a Sub-Reseller account.

I used them for a while and they are pretty good. You can pre-pay more $$ to avoid the cost of the reseller program which is like $99 i belive. Or you can just ask to see if anyone has a reseller account to spare.

if enom changes their API, will your program have to be updated?

good question (refering to API changing), and yes my program would probably have to be updated, which is why I'm asking about it now to see if it's worth it. Hopefully they don't change it often.

NamePros uses eNom and the API to power the NP$ Domain Registration system. And I am a current reseller of Directi, WWD, Tucows as well. Not to say it's perfect, but overall eNom's is still the best reseller solution available.

As far as changes to the API, they are few and far between.

Ah thanks for the word, makes me feel better that actual people in the community are using it and having success. I will start to program in support for people to register in my software then for there convenience should they decide, it will help for those clients that want to register a mass amount of domains at once.

Best,
- Joe
