I was just curious. Obviously the value of a domain goes up if it gets a lot of unique hits (as compared to a domain on its own without any visitors). Is it a good idea to put up just a 1-2 page website and optimize it for search engines without having a whole lot of content there? Has anyone does this?
Lets say you found a decent domain name and have a good idea for a site that could be built there, but you don't have the time to get the site up just yet. Would it be a good idea to do initial SEO and see if you get good hits first and then build the site? or if you do get good hits to just sell the domain if you still don't have time to build the rest of the site?
I'm not talking about a doorway page that's just wall to wall keywords which can get you banned from search engines.
