Hello everyone
Need some advise.
I have a website mywebsite.com which has about 1000 page views and 100 visitors per day. This website also ranks good for some keywords in Google search. Now I have installed eCommerce software in a sub directory mywebsite.com/shop. The reason to use sub directory instead of sub domain is because I wanted my shop to benefit from its parent domain authority and popularity. My shop has three categories men, women and kids under the URL mywebsite.com/shop/men, mywebsite.com/shop/women and mywebsite.com/shop/kid.
Now I want to point a new domain myshop.com to mywebsite.com/shop. My question is if someone clicks on categories, what will the URL look like. Will it be myshop.com/men, myshop.com/women and myshop.com.kid ?
PS: This way my shop will retain the authority and ranking as well as will have a good and short domain name. Is this method possible and will this method work for me?
