I don't know if this scam is running for a long time. This is what I ran into the other day: I received an offer via e-mail to my domain name e-mail address. The text looks legit, a real person's name, there is even a phone number. I replied with a simple e-mail and a price. The next day, I received a number of "Domain Service Notice" to business and search engine registration to many of the domain names using the same e-mail address.

From now on, I'm not going to respond to any offer if I cannot validate the identity of the person or company making the offer. A web site check just won't cut it any more.

I received similar emails in my inbox lately too. But nothing that would entice me to click in and make a reply. I was too busy doing other things and I am glad that I do. Nowadays I noticed that most of this domain scam offers are not ending up in my spam folder anymore which is kinda annoying I must say.
