opinion Domain no required to rank on mobile?

I wanted to look at coin collecting images when bored on my phone typed those keyword and found site on first page called dans coin collecting center lot of nic pic 5 million visitors and only housed on ip address site showed on first page google just by the content. So in mobile not even necessary domain for good keyword rank i guess
