Hi, I'm still in the process of selecting a domain name for my software webpage (automation of certain taks on a Windows computer). I would like to select a name which would look good and give perception of trust with potential buyers. I would also use it for the support mail addresses etc. which should look professional. AppName.com is not for sale.

The main question is whether to use shorter .net (or .io) or longer .com name, like
AppName.net
AppNameAutomation.com

support @appname.net
support @appnameautomation.com

Which one would you prefer in my case described above and why? Any pros/cons? Thanks!

If you want trust get a dot com. Avoid descriptive names or long names.

Why don't you post what you you are looking for in the Request Domains section? Be as specific as you can with your requirements and be sure to give a budget.

Believe me or not,

You can go with any extension, use any name, if you have quality content, user friendly Design and got some authority backlinks. You are set to get postion what your page will deserve in Google search engine.

I have used .xyz extension & taken my website from 0 to 300 unique vister per month within a 3 month. The extension cost me only $0.91 + $9 year hosting. Sold it to someone for $350.

I would pick a different name with the matching .com.

i guess it all depends on your budget - but i would go .com 100% of the time

if you are looking at spending $xx amount you not going to find anything decent.

if you can afford $x,xxx range i would post in the request section and see what is available from the members here
