I'm just interested to know what people think. I know that you can get domains a lot cheaper than 5 years ago? I read somewhere about plans for .net registration to be less than half todays price within the next ten years. Is it reasonable to assume that domain registration costs are reducing every few years or do you think that this trend has stopped?

Domain prices could drop a bit but the prices are so low that I think we only are talking a $ or two.

A problem with too low prices is that people will keep renewing their domains so we cannot pick them up when they expire :( :)

When i come to namepros i had 1.tk domain, i been here a few months, and i admit, coming here makes you greedy with domains, i now have 30+ domain names and register one or buy one every couple of days, if anything i think prices will go up a $1 or 2 as demand is getting higher which means more will be snapped up and in like 30 years people wont be able to register a .com uner 20characters long. the 10-12 character drops will be snapped up like 3 character .coms are, 3 characters will be worth thousands, so the price will go up IMO, i wouldnt mind paying an extra $2, its if they went upto like $50 then thats were the problem would start, i wouldnt like to see a drop, i think it would ruin the name industry, everyone would have 100's of names............

I highly doubt that it will go any lower than it is now. And with the extreme inflation we are facing right now, the only way the prices can go is up.
