not sure what you mean? If you are writing a program to parse and display html you should include css these days.

If you mean use css, then yes. You do not program in CSS though, as neither it nor html are programming languages.

anyone that says no to this to be honest needs there head testing

anyone that doesnt use css when building and styling there pages are just asking for trouble because you can bet your house on it that there code will be big, slwo to render, full of tables, repeating and not at all search engine freindly

css is the way foward, using tables in layouts is a thing of past now imho

Css is a must! You cant have a decent site without css. I personally like sites coded in css not tables. I dont know why and dont ask me :yell: Sites without css would be bland and just plain boring. Also it is a good way to edit text when you have jsut made the tables all wrong :P

why are table bad? you can still use CSS and table, its not all about divs, even google uses tables

i didnt say tables were bad, i jsut dont personally like them as much. I think css sites are jsut better. I really dont know why. My mind works in mysterious ways.

CSS is processed faster and is more customizable/compatible. I love CSS But am not very good at it.

It isnt necesarily compatible. You get all the problems with ie and safari and fire fox all showing it different if it is not done right. Especially with whole css layouts. Theres bound to be something wrong.

Well that's cause Micro$oft thought they were better than everyone so they made up their own rules for CSS.

i Know i find that really stupid. I hope they fix that in ie7. Everyone go to firefox!!! Why did microsoft have to try being differnet it jsut messes everything up.

Over 100 million HAVE downloaded firefox. Frankly, I hope they DON'T in IE7... it wouldn't fix much

I think css is very nice because of its compatability. And as for getting it to work in IE all you have to do is validate the css code and it'll work about 90% of the time. The times it doesn't you just have to find work arounds to fix it.

I can tell you guys that CSS are really useful as they help in the enhancement of websites..!

As far as I am concerned, even the big websites like Yahoo and MSN use CSS but they use internal CSS and not external. As you see these CSS helps in changing a look of a website and thus saving more space.

What do you mean even big sites. All big sites have to use css. Its like a must have. Otherwise it would be so boring to view their site. ALso anything like borders will be done in css changing their colours and such.

I just made my first website without any tables only css based. But how can i check how it looks in firefox without have firefox installed on the PC. Because i heared that when you use XHTML (css) it can be messed up in Firefox and looks ok in IE. Is there an online firefox validator to see if there are any misstakes.

ill ahve you know that sites look ok when designed in firefox and messed up in ie most of the time. This is because microsoft decided to make their own css rules. If you give me the link ill look at it and such to see if its ok. I use firefox like many.

The biggest benefit that I see in CSS is that it reduces site maintenance while increasing site flexibility. Styles can be defined outside of the html file and thus updating the style in one place will update the style (formatting) on all your pages.
