I have one domain that goes along with a fabulous line of designs perfect for T-SHIRTS & stuff.

Thinking of publishing through www.cafepress.com

Anybody here have good experineces. You make about 4-10 bucks per item you sell a bit depending on product and on your pricing (that you set). sounds like a good deal since they take care of EVERYTHING. No trips to the post office and no boxes of T's rottening in the basement.

I'd like to both sell my designs there and also get affiliate money from sending people to the site and my store.

Hows their affiliate program.

Any 2 cents to this topic would be 'preciated.

I ordered a few shirts, and a quite alot for a local band of cafepress. The overall print/shirt is good, but im curently looking for another. They also have only about 5 colors of shirts, and their all pastel.

I ordered a tshirt and sweatshirt from them with my sites design. The shipping is kinda slow. Quality is alright, but I noticed some fading after washing, but I guess that is common with any shirt. Its good in the sense that you really have no inventory or anything, you just run the shop and collect the money.

I love their shirts. Also you can charge as high as you want for a shirt. If you go over a 15 dollar markup you have to give them 15% I think though. The NP shirts I dont markup though.

I thought I might add that I just looked at one of the shirts I purchased, and the iron on is quite obvious all of a sudden. Like, you can see where they cut out my logo, its slightly discolored and looks kinda bad on the white shirt. Maybe its just the way my logo is or the way it was washed.

You mean dont mark up over 15..? I thought everything over $8 something was for the shop ovenr to keep for regular t-shirts etc. Your's cost in the mid teens so isnt there at least - $6-7 mark-up for you..? Without mark-up they would be close to half that... If I have read the cafepress contracts correctly..

Not that I care - just that you stated No mark-up on NP shirts.

All of the shirts and the mug are at base price.

And the base price is what you pay cafepress for the shirt itself. You get no money from charging base price if that's what your saying.

Note: an additional 5% transaction fee will be charged on markup amounts greater than $15.

Your Price
Base Price = $13.99. To earn a profit, raise your price above the base price.

Take a look at that. The prices that are listed are what CafePress charges, that is the lowest you can sell them for (unless you buy in bulk) and thats all of THEIR profit, thats the base price. An Ash Grey t-shirt goes for $14.99, meaning if you sell it for $14.99, you make nothing. If you sell it for $16.99, you make $2, and so on. I think the base price is kind of average, but when you mark them up, it seems kinda expensive, but thats only me. I am in college and dont have much $$$, everything seems expensive to me :)

EDIT: Hum, lol, didnt realize you posted that. I started to write this thread and was browsing cafepress for a while, lol.

I thought the base price for Ts where around 8 something.

Ok - well yeah - then those base prices are quite high.

I might have to rethink about selling publishing them through them...

cafepress must be swimming in cash...

well the value t-shirt was 8.99

well you cant beat the NO WORK after setting your store. They do everything including exchanges etc... So no headache's for you.

I wonder if they sell at all to T-shirt stores directly. No reatiler would pay that much for the base + bulk pricing...

I am getting pretty close to opening my first t-shirt cafepress store. The design is pretty hot. I will for sure share the page once it's up and running.

But I will go ahead and order one shirt first from someone to test the serviceand quality.

Fleege, you can set up a free store / account and make your own shirt and buy it from yourself if you want to see the quality of your own shirt.

I sold a couple t-shirts on Cafepress and didn't get any complaints. :) I took my store down awhile back as I had a premium store that was a monthly charge. I plan to put back up a new store this month for Christmas. They also have affiliates now for members and black shirts for those band ones. :)
