dnnewbie.com

I know that the double nn harms it and that newbies would possibly not know what dn is, but I thought that it was a decent enough reg.

What do you guys think ??

Funny, this name is almost an oxymoron, ha ha: 'dn' is known to be short for 'domain' pretty much only by someone who's past the newbie stage, so it infers the opposite of newbie.

That being said, I think this is one of the more clearly useful dn names: it targets straight to a group of people who are a huge part of today's dn trading market; as a site that teaches the abc's of starting out with domaining, what to do/watch out for, which registrars are best, etc., and targeting beginner/part time domainers specifically, you've got the best name for this service.

For its obvious market, an obvious usage, and being a name with a meaning just screaming to be used (and profited from), this is a 'dn' name I'll finally feel confident in attaching more solid value to.
(undeveloped):
resellers - despite the double 'nn', the message is abundantly clear, and the actual logo will take care of it visually (DNnewbie) onsite, and it's entirely related to a valuable service and market: low xxx right away, possibly higher.
end users - if they see the value of a site dedicated to new domainers, they'd be crazy not to want this name -- it IS becoming well-known, and in the future will conceivably be public knowledge since domaining is now beginning to enjoy the public eye -- I'd say this name has at least mid xxx to high xxx value undeveloped, to a canny end user.
But if I've ever seen a prime name to hold onto, develop, and skim the profits off of products/services made available to help newbies, this one is it. Shopping cart for books, services, resources, and all made abundantly clear and ordered (rather than the mess that has to be sorted through on most sites), and this name will pay well. Make it pay forever, and large, rather than in one small sale... IMO.

Thanks Bannen.

Rep added

I nearly wasn't going to reg it as I am a newbie as well and the double nn was putting me off but I thought it was so concise and to the point that I had to reg it.

I was extremely suprised that it was not regged already.

The double 'n' only harms it depending on the way you write it. Always list your domains so the keywords stand out. DNnewbie.com or dnNewbie.com

I was looking through some magazines the other day and was amazed to see some two colour page advertisements that must have cost tens of thousands of dollars, and the three and four word website addresses were all in capitals making it very hard to read or for it to stand out.

I like the name. Low $xx undeveloped. There are some other newbie websites out there, though they slip my mind... :]

if you plan to develop the site, make sure your logo has the 'DN' capitalized so it won't confuse the noobs..

for me, you could get as high as $xxx if developed.. notice how many noobs are there waiting for their domains to be appraised..

but then again, its all about SEO, PageRanking and Linkbacks... The higher you get, the more valuable it is..

My suggestion: Develop it.
