Last time he hacked NP's he called the host (as i believe)

My quesiton was more like "how do you know if you are NOT guessing" - now you "believe" ?

Just being safe but does the site install anything?

I am not a memeber but id prefer to keep keylogging and shit off my computer

I stayed to listen to the music :)

The server seems to be the way to hack a site my previous host had his whole server hacked and alot of people lost their sites with a month old backup. (The thing that pissed me off is they hacked zencart a week earlier I patched the site then the whole bloddy server went down.) - I am now with polurnet

The choice of dedicated / colo hosts can help; the budget places are fine for awhile, but when things go wrong, the savings rapidly evaporates ... some dedicated / colos are very strict about revealing login / acct info of accounts; really paranoid admins will go one step further and change the root password(s) to something even the dedicated host doesn't know - disadvantage of doing that though is they may not be able to fix some types of problems on their own.

In regards to vbulletin - the software itself is relatively secure, but many of the various plug-ins / addons aren't.

There honestly is little to no recourse for DNF against such actions; about all DNF can do legally is file a complaint with the FBI - they will likely ignore it due to small economic loss; they usually don't get involved until documented losses are significant ... ie. millions.

Realistically, DNF, and others affected, have limited options ... switching dedicated / colos, securing servers, updating software, etc along with relying on "alternative" methods of preventing repeats of such problems.

The police or FBI will not be able to track him down, and if they do they can't do anything, because these things are not illegal in Iran.

On a related note, the strict linking policies of DNF and perhaps here (not sure) makes matters worse in that many DNF users will never see this thread, since they don't even know about NamePros (all most see is NP leaving them wondering what and where is that).

Cross-linking sites is not a zero-sum game, as the adult industry discovered long ago ... cross-linking often increases traffic across all the linked sites contrary to what common sense may suggest ... shame to see so many barriers in this industry; today those barriers are causing some to lose money.

I think you forgot SnapNames,NamePros,Dnjournal.com And more sites, Yes????
I think this means that the legal areas of those site are still up and people are still reporting stolen names.

Rough translation...

"I told you not to report stolen domains here, if they are not owned by you. Next time, I'll move your domain to another registar, so your site will be down for two weeks. (I recommend that you remove the legal issues place and suspend stupid people.) So, the database has been terminated and the site defaced."

And, I think he means this by the last line, but Duke would have to confirm it since we know the others were breached.

"I think you forgot about [when I hacked] Snapnames, Namepros, DN Journal and more sites, yes?"

I think some domainers from Iran should find out where he live :) lol

Well the other thing is they're probably trying to figure out how this guy got in and patch it up so he cannot do it again. Obviously, he's pretty persistent and it does no good to restore something if he's going to tear it down again.
