Yes I thought the same. I am not sure of the divorce rate in the country of tld. Americans have one of the highest if not the highest rate of divorce in the world.

I would think that divorce is fairly common everywhere.

As far as the actual extension.. I was thinking a good keyword could "bypass" cctld status and enter main stream...

Eg. Bartholomew and Edwards divorce law. = divorcelawyer.be

Or....

Just any old divorce lawyer may want it... who cares about the extension... Ya, it ain't dot com, but it is the EXACT keyword necessary for his/her business.

Actually, I have seen Brad use this rational for primo keyword names on a few occasions....

True, divorce is widespread everywhere these days... but you do not see people advertising themselves as "divorce lawyers" in mainland Europe, the way you would see it in the US.

While people in Belgium are definitely open to the use of English, I am not sure how far a lawayer in that specific sector would advertise in English. I would at the best see a possible niche for a lawyer targeting the international community in the Brussels area. But I would be very surprised to see such a domain name selling for a good price.

That's it. And if you want to target the local market, you should use the local languages (Dutch & French). Use of English is OK for more international purposes.
I also think that In Europe there are severe restrictions on advertising for lawyers, doctors etc. Most probably don't have a website.

However, your biggest problem as stated above is that no one seems to even know they want one, why don't you put up the site for a year and look at the stats? Find out if there is any demand and then take it from there?
