I'm currently working on a website that will act as a comic book inventory for myself. I would love to display the value of each comic book on my site, but I obviously don't want to enter the price for each comic because that would be too time consuming and the values can change. Is there a script or some other means that will allow me to obtain that information from another website (such as an online comic book price guide) and display it on mine?

A web design professor of mine used to have a website that displayed weather forecasts and other information. I believe he said that he used a script (or something else) that allowed him to obtain that info from a site and display it on his.

Thank you and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Check out RSS feeds - this sounds like a good option. Google is a good starting point.

An intro to RSS feeds - quoting from the article

" RDF Site Summary (RSS) files, based on XML, provide an open method of syndicating and aggregating Web content. Using RSS files, you can create a data feed that supplies headlines, links, and article summaries from your Web site. These files describe a channel of information that can include a logo, a site link, an input box, and multiple "news items." Other sites can incorporate your information into their pages automatically. "
