The problem is that (as I said in my last post) even if you sell it before Disney contacts/finds you, they can get you anyway....

So I don't think it's a very good idea to try to sell it at all...

My solution: Put it on a parking page and hope you get traffic to it. After a year, let it expire. If Disney contacts you, tell them you have no intention to use/sell the domain, that you planned on letting it expire and give it to them if they ask. That way, you'll save yourself a lotta headaches, though you might never make back the reg fees.

Just one catch with that plan...

If you park it on a PPC page you are using it (in bad faith...) :)

(hm, this is turning more and more into a "Legal Issues & Disputes" thread, rather than an appraisal thread now...)

Technically, you're right lol Even parking could earn you cash-and that's making money from their trademark.... I guess I should have though of that.

A lotta ppl dunno much at all about legality, though they think they do. I seldom take legal advice from forum users because most of them are wrong. I'd talk to lawyers, as they know the law better than 14 year old kids who dream of selling 23 char .ws domains for $10,000 each. But yeah, this is turning into a thread of legality. I suggest you just let the domain expire. There are too many repercussions to owning/selling that thing.

your problem with parking it and earning PPC is that Disney could sue for that amount plus costs, the registrar, the PPC supplier and any one else connected with a clear misuse of their TM.

Do yourself a favour Daniel, ignore any posts above recommending you make money from this domain, get disney on the phone, tell them about your naivety and maybe, just maybe, youll get a couple of free tkts.

For a certain uneducated kid who wants us to believe that he know anything about the domain industry, I'll rephrase my earlier post:

DisneyLand.us by itself is worth at least four figures but because of its trademark issues, it likely couldn't sell for $10. Value is only what ppl would pay for something. Value and worth aren't the same thing.

Caveman, whether you know it or not, you're trying to start a flame in here. I suggest you stop this foolish, self-righteous posting of yours before you get a warning from the mods.

EDIT: DisneyLand.WS. I typed in the wrong extention.

Grow up already. For this name, value and worth are the same thing. The worth of the name is $0 because that's what people will pay for it. I was not starting a flame war and there was nothing self-righteous about my post. I gave my opinion on the name and made a joke about an appraisal that was pretty ignorant. Take a look at your own posts before calling the kettel black.
I'm done with this thread, too immature for me. Once again, welcome to the real world.

hey.... so much un needed tention in here... geez

i think the domain has some potential... its riskey but if you are willing to take that risk... you might be able to profit from it

TM issue domains arnt always bad... i think if you are using the domain as an intent to hurt a major company or any company at that then yes it is wrong. But owning a domain that was unregistered and riding the traffic is perfectly fine ( not legally however )

this is just my opinion.

But anyway...there ARE people out there that look specifically for TM problemed domains. They arnt hard to find, and despite what people may tell you, you can make profit off this.

Just know what you are getting yourself into =-)

This helps explain what I was trying to say: It could easily be worth a good sum but because of its nature (the TM problem), not many would risk owning/buying it (Disney's too big a franchise to p*ss off). You can't do much with trademarked domains unless you own the TM itself, so that on top its legality, there isn't much desire to own one.

And I agree-there was too much tention in here. It's okay to have a disagreement but a person shouldn't call another person's ideas ignorant, as a certain someone said to me earlier on. It ruins the business atmosphere to not only the ppl involved but to everyone. We're in the whole domain game-we shouldn't be bickering nor should we shoot snide remarks at each other. But that's the nature of forums :( Where are the mods, anyway? Aren't they supposed to help keep the business atmosphere that exists here?
