There is a thread listed under the appraisals section "PTTPhone" in which there is a short discussion about digital signature domains. One guy said he felt that the digital signature domains will "hold their value". I do not know much about digital signatures accept the fact that they will probably be standard in the future. My question is.....how will domain names related to digital signatures be worth anything?

Hi,
I'm not an expert but'll try to explain whatever I know. If I'm wrong please guys correct me:
Digital signatures is something about authenticity of online contents (documents and data etc.). Digital signatures are authenticated by the companies who issue 'Digital Certificates' to such signatures using websites. Digital Certificate issuing companies are again licensed by concerned Telecom companies and regulators (in specific areas, states or countries).

Now we see the governance tree like: Regulators > D.Certificate Issuing Companies > Signatures using websites> End users. Keeping in view the probable e-commerce volume in future, in can be predicted that a lot of 'Consulting' and 'Certificating' companies would be there in the market and shall need a nice name to attract global traffic & business. That's why such names would be fetching right price. (Again sorry for going wrong...)

Regards.

If digital signatures become commonplace, there would be an increased demand for quality domain names related to the technology. It's just like any other kind of domain speculation.

Well considering I own quite a few of these names, I can only hope this prediction is correct!

These are a few variations of what we have.
mdsignature.com
mysig.us
drsignature.com
dsignature.com
drsig.com

KEEP IN MIND< We are really new in this business so I could be way of base. (I don't think I would use us as good guideline at this point :)
However, on the flip side, we have recieved a few emails requesting asking prices on some of those names and we have yet to park them.

I don't really have much insight to the technology......but i registered a couple.....they might suck but I registered: DigitalHancock.com and DigiHancock.com. Ya all know when someone tells you to sign something they say "sign your John Hancock." I could be off base.....tell me if i am.

How unoriginal! Hancock is one of the original signers of America's Declaration of Independence! :)
