What else? Which ones always have auctions, for the others when are the next auctions, fill me in on everything please (newbie wanting to invest)

In the lll.com, nnn.com, ll.net, ll.org, lll.net, cc.com, etc field

Try SnapNames, NameJet, and Pool. They'll occasionally pick up an LLL.com, and often have LLL.nets. Other than the ones you mentioned, I'm not aware of any other popular D2D auctions.

You do not really "pay" for a backorder. It basically get's you in the auction and if their are no other bidders (not the case with the domains you are looking for) you pay the "backorder fee" as the cost of the domain.
