I think you can not compare "Diamonds" with chat, TV, shopping, poker, outlets, software, autos, hardware, Pc....

All of these are common words in german Language.
But nobody use "Diamonds" here.

Good luck
Thomas

Top generic single word in a popular ccTLD.
Possible uses: Jewellery, special clubs network, entertainment, culture and much more.
Highly valuable.
Though the singular, "diamond" is much more valuable( low 7 figures).
The addition of an "s" reduce the value by a great measure due to confusion with the singular domain.
Also, "diamond" is a much more popular word than "diamonds".
People prefer to search the keyword "diamond" rather than "diamonds".
Monthly Searches(Source: Google keyword planner):
Exact match monthly searches for "diamond": 823,000
Exact match monthly searches for "diamonds": 301,000

Furthermore, there are more broad search results for "diamond" than "diamonds".

Resell price: low-mid $xx,xxx
End user price: high $xx,xxx to low $xxx, xxx

I suggest to apply for Sedo top domain for better exposure.

Good luck :)

What Tommiko said is very important.

Also, I noticed that the big sales happened for terms that are closely related to the Internet (shopping , poker, chat, software, casino). I think diamonds are mostly sold in brick-and-mortar stores than online.

diamonds24.de sold for $3,400 in 2013
diamonds.info sold for $20,000 in 2014
diamond.pro sold for $7,000 in 2013
diamond.com sold for $7,500,000 in 2006

Apparently germans use the term Diamant or Diamanten. Exact search volume in Germany for these terms: Link: https://i.imgur.com/u3CBot2.png

Germans aren't obsessed with diamonds it seems.

Despite the low search volume I want to say the domain is worth $30k+.

Thank you ppl for the appraisals, appreciate it much.

To quote the DeBeers line: A diamond is Forever.

Thanks Sheo, I do differ on the singular/plural thing here. "Diamonds" make more sense than "Diamond" to me. There are some cases where the plural is more meaningful and commonsensical term. Like Car vs Cars, Shoe vs Shoes etc. I am really not saying this bcoz I own "Diamonds.de", I would still have valued the plural more even if I have had the singular one.

The Google keywords tool says otherwise, "Diamonds" (8100 exacts/month) keyword (which is English) is more often searched than "Diamanten" (6600 exacts/month) keyword (which is Local) in the Germany region alone.

I think diamonds are mostly sold in brick-and-mortar stores than online.
Agree partially but buying a good domain is good publicity and good trust builder. People decide and make up their mind by going through your store online most of the times. People wouldn't pay $7.5M for Diamond.com way back in 2006 and $228,420 for DiamondRings.com in 2009 if the domain was not much use to them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's see what it gets to finally, hoping to sell near $1M, maybe in next 2-4 years when there is some genuine business interested in the name.

thanks all
