Hi,

Can you please review my new site: http://dhtmlsite.com ?

Its a basic layout i made with CSS, run by a basic CMS. Im also using lightbox technology to deliver the external links.

Please tell me what you think, and how i could improve it.

Also, if you know any DHTML/AJAX/CSS Tutorial that i havent gotten listed yet, please submit them in!

Thanks

Hi,

Not bad.

The logo and colour scheme looks ok.

However, you see the "tutorials" table? Make it go up a few pixels, so it's inline with "Catagories" and "Sponsors" tables.

I think the navigation links, are too big, reduce them, would look alot better in my honest opinion.

Maybe add more colour and images? Most websites have about 3 different main colours. You only really have two.

Site review

Hi. First of all, the template looks nice. The borders and colours are good, the white background needs to be coloured, the logo is also beautiful. Second, the content is well-based.

Good luck with your site!

Overall Rating: 8,5/10

If you liked my review and comments, you can add rep for me.

Regards. :)

For AJAX I have some people on my forum that LOVE playing with it. If you want to make the journey over I am sure they would help. If you don't want to join that's cool too, I am not trying to spam.

The Bad
  • Site is too white.
  • The light blue doesn't match the logos colors.
  • The green links are a bit hard to read.
  • Too many ads.

The Good
  • Clean layout.
  • Nice simple logo.
  • Great images.

Hello,

Thankyou for your reviews.

I have made some changes to the site:
-I have added the background i made, and now my site is 30% less white! (And looks better too!)
-I have repositioned some boxes around, and i reduced a whole column of ads (now just a 120px ad block)

PcWebAdvice, I can't find any green links on my site

However, you see the "tutorials" table? Make it go up a few pixels, so it's inline with "Catagories" and "Sponsors" tables.

There should actually be an adblock there. The reason you cannot see it because the ad was not displayed (due to insufficient keywords or whatever), therefore it was misaligned.

The new background makes my site look alot better now. Thanks for the suggestion!

Also thankyou for the person who privately commented about valid XHTML. The errors have been fixed, and it is now a W3C Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional site. http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://dhtmlsite.com
