Hi Everyone,
I am not sure if this is the proper place to post this but here goes...
I am going to develop 2 of my domains and get sites up very soon. I am going to focus on a couple of things and see how I can build more traffic to the sites.
The first domain will be : JohnnyDamon.info
This domain has a relatively high OVT for Johnny Damon (7754) and there are many sub searches such as damon johnny red sox (87) etc...
What I plan to do with this domain is focus on OVT and design the pages soley based on the OVT results. So I will have a Johnny Damon page, a damon johnny red sox page, a damon johnny pic pages, johnny damon trade, etc...
For the second domain I am going with CelebSign.com - There is 0 OVT results for Celeb Sign (but Celeb is 136779)
I will not worry about OVT at all for this one and just build it the way I see fit...
I am just trying to figure out how to work with OVT results and see what happens...
For the first approach (Johnny) I plan to use the exact OVT terms as the page titles and as the directories for each section, so the links will look like this:
johnnydamon.info
johnnydamon.info/johnny damon trade/index.html
johnnydamon.info/johnny damon pic/index.html
etc...
but, what is the best way to handle the spaces in the directory name? Should I use a dash (-) or a plus (+) ?
Also, would it help to name the actual html files the same as the directory name, like this:
johnnydamon.info/johnny damon trade/johnny damon trade.html
etc...
and again, what to do with the spaces?
Anyway, basically I am trying to figure out how to maximize the potential of a domain based on OVT and compare it to a site designed on content alone. (obviously, both sites will have good content relative to the subject)
I plan on submitting both to Google, Yahoo, and MSN, not sure if I should submit anywhere else, opinions on this are also welcome.
I will post my results as things begin to happen (or not) Hopefully this will be a great learning experience for myself, as well as anyone else who is trying to figure out how to generate more traffic and build better websites...
Cheers and a happy 2006 to all!!
