I'm actually working on several sites simultaneously... and accomplishing quite a bit.

The key was using a blog format where suitable to develop a site. Blogs are incredibly easy to update once they're setup.

Another was using premade newsletter style templates for my sites... I found a suitable template for my www.carrieunderwood.ws site and simply plugged in the content. It's also flexible enough to allow for later expansion.

I was sick of owning dozens of domains and few developed sites!

Congrats on the progress Sir. David (Progress and Knights always go together in my head for some reason, so you've been knighted by Allan for this post ;) )!
So now the question becomes this:
You developed in order to get a higher revenue stream from the sites, or...
You developed in order to be able to sell the site at a higher price than just the domain would have otherwise, or...
Some combination of the two, or...
There was nothing left in the house to paint, so you figured why not develop some websites?
;)

I am curious to see how the revenue picks up in regards to an ROI evaluation (Time vs. % increase, perhaps), as well as anything you do to promote the sites now that would have been next to impossible leaving them only as a parked site.

Great job again, David.

I don't expect to derive much revenue actually, but it's been fun to be a little hands-on creative for once... ;)

Hopefully, if and when I do sell, the site being developed will increase the value considerably. I'm always preaching branding and development. Time to practice what I preach.

Later, when I have time, I want to develop my regional domains as community blog hosts.. that's the goal anyway. First come the non-regional domains tho.

Dave, it's impressive that you just registered that domain last night, and today you already have a nice clean site up, complete with a very fitting poster selection to start (hopefully) making some income from it.

Keep it up. :tu:

Oh, and I want to see another site from you, up by the weekend. :o

Hehe.. not to mention, the logos are original (which is the hardest part for me, thinking of an original design). ;)

Nice job Dave. Have they decided on that casino yet?

Is there a trend starting here with building some content instead of just parking.

Am currently working on www.bamboo.co.in

Dunno about the casino but I believe they passed the measure.. all the Indian casinos in the area are adding table games (which I never play anyway)..

I have always felt a developed site of any kind is worth more than a domain alone..

Good job on the bamboo site!

Wow, nice. I wish I had the ability to develop sites. I'll see what I can do soon. They aren't getting much just from parking.

Cool Dave,
but why not put a large adsense block at the top of the page(under the pic)?

Ya, I have been gradually trying to develop my websites, and have found like you said that a blog format is actually pretty easy once you set it up. Congrats Dave!

Yeah, the setup is the "hard" (time-consuming) part... I use Thingamablog which allows you to create your entries offline, if need be.. and also includes a built-in RSS reader/aggregator that makes it easy to import and utilize different news feeds.

Using a common template helps and all sites can be maintained from a common interface.

Love the logo of the newest, (The tagline, "what you hang on your walls is our business")
Sell that to the next startup to compete with art.com/allposters :)
