I still believe .TV makes a nice brand for geo names and certain keywords. However, one should not underestimate the task of geo development. Today I attended a Youth Olympic Track & Field qualifying meet near home. Several years ago I attended meets at this same facility - Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar and would load photos and even videos to a local website. Despite an effort to reach out to local businesses, advertising never materialized. Well, at today's meet they were giving away a local print publication - about 100 pages total. The publication is only published quarterly and is basically a directory of local activities, camps for kids, local businesses, etc. There are a few articles but given the frequency of publication, not a lot of original content. I recall finding this sort of info of local events and pulling it from city websites several years ago. However, this publication was loaded with paying advertisers. One would think you need some level of visitors / subscribers to attract paying advertisers but without advertisers it is a challenge to consistently create quality photo / video content.
