Hello everyone.

Thinking of listing desktopcomputers.io on Flipper.

What are your thoughts on price and listing option ? Auction or BIN ? Or just put it to sleep and see if .io become more popular in a year or so ?

I think it might be a good domain for a start up business. Desktopcomputers.com is silly money and out of the reach of most new ventures. The .io domain would provide an very affordable alternative ?

I think this domain has some value in it - I would guess you could flip it for mid $xxx on Flippa if you promoted it correctly. BTW purely on coincidence I own the domain Desktops.io which I secured a few days ago.

DesktopComputers.io - I don't know I think .io work the best with 1 worders, but I may be wrong.

Swt.io - again I think best bet is with one word 3 letters or something that is pronounceable

(I'm talking from reselling perspective eg. what would you get on forums, ... )

Good luck with desktops.io It will be interesting to see what it fetches. One thing - This will be my first listing on Flippa - how do you suggest it is promoted correctly ?

I agree that 'one worders' will work best. Computers for example is much better than desktopcomputers but of course it is taken. I also agree that a pronounceable 3 letter word would be better than swt. However it is an acronym / abbreviation so may find a buyer - time will tell

I understand the 2 words issue. I still think it has value somewhere as it is easy to remember and a techie domain.

There is no one "right or wrong" way to promote it, it is an art form that takes time to master. For this domain I would suggest you put it in your catalog with a set buy now price with some wiggle room to negotiate. Then do a bunch of out-reach to potential buyers and see if you can find a end-user who wants to buy before you even put this domain to auction.

Good suggestion Kiln Media. I think I will still auction but send a link to it as many end users as possible.

I agree that it takes time to master this business. For me it is not make or break and if I get a few beers out of it I will be happy enough. Problem is I also enjoy it - the lass is going nuts - every time we go out I am clocking new words to check out. She has banned me taking a pen and note pad out at the weekends. I made a beginners mistake at first and just went on Esibot values and bought a load of bad domains thinking I would be quids in.
