CONTEST HOLDER RULES - Please Read!
Rules have been moved to a new thread. Click here.
---------------------------------
Inline with the new advancements were making within the DC Forum, please could ALL NEW contests posted include the following format.
This is likely to change over the next week, but it will put in place some of the relevant information people will need to know to make your contest a success
Step 1 - The Thread Title
Please define what type of contest it is. Initially, we'll break this down into 4 formats.
1) [REQ-LOGO]
2) [REQ-BANNER]
3) [REQ-TEMPLATE]
4) [REQ-OTHER]
The reason for this is that there are some designers who specialize in certain areas. Myself, for example, can not really do Logo's, however I'm very content doing banners and templates.
Therefore, the title to the post might be:
[REQ-LOGO] - Financial Forums Logo Required
Adding the value of the contest is optional at this point. Some people will insist that it will get more people looking at the contest, others will say it makes little difference. The choice is yours.
Step 2 - The Contest Description
As with any form of contest, the more information the better for all involved. I know it adds a little more time implementing this for a contest holder, however, it should also increase the chances of you receiving designs that match your requirements quicker.
All elements MUST be covered (ESPECIALLY the end date/time).
Type of Contest :
Prize :
Contest End Date & Time :
Size Requirements :
Color Requirements :
General Requirements :
Additional Information :
So, to give you an example of how the post layout would be with the relevant information :
Type of Contest : LOGO Design
Prize : $25.00
Contest End Date & Time : 9.00PM GMT : 2nd October 2006
Size Requirements : 250px x 100px
Color Requirements :
I would like the design to be inline with the present site. View the site here: http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/index.php - The background MUST be white and ideally the use of greys and blues for the logo, however, I am open to other color formats.
General Requirements :
The site is about football and tennis. I would like to have a symbol or two that are relevant to each sport within the logo if possible. If shouldn’t however look crowded. Ideally it will be clean and corporate. The domain extension is not required within the design, but the name MUST be in it.
Additional Information :
No Additional Info.
The above took me all of 3-4 minutes to knock up. That was from a made up version. Clearly, the objective is to give as much information as possible. By doing this when you initially post the thread, it will make designers lives a lot easier and should return better examples of what you want immediately.
As I said initially, this is essentially a "Trial" format. Feedback and changes are welcomed from the community. Please remember Designers, that we're not creating a historic reference with every little detail, just a solid outline of the main requirements to start submitting your quality designs.
For now, this will not be heavily enforced, but I may go into your thread to include this format so it is clear and we can get a good idea if it is working for people. I will not change any of your details.
Important Additional Note:
It has come to my attention in a couple of threads where the deal has been done, yet the thread has not been updated. Clearly there has been conversation in PM regarding this. That is not a problem, however PLEASE keep the thread updated so other designers know that you have made a choice and their designs will not need to be changed or required.
Thanks to all for reading.
Matt
