Description:
DarkEye is a website design showcase and database. Users submit website URLs which are instantly "processed" by a server-side Microsoft C# .Net application which then:

1. captures a screen shot image of the site
2. analyzes color design data including; colors used, individual colors with % data
3. analyzes Meta and descriptive data including: keywords, title, author, description, email, and URL
4. populates a mySQL database with the above

The site displays these submissions and allows visitors to rate and comment on the submitted designs and records ratings, comments, views and visit data for each submission.

The Site and it's screen capture applications are all original, designed and hand coded by a gifted web designer and programmer (Michael Hay)at KoreLogic in the U.K. (http://www.korelogic.co.uk).

I haven't actively pursued monetizing this site. Adsense ads have generated nominal revenue of around $500 over the last year.

Targeted industry ads would do well on this site, and there have been several inquiries in the past regarding placing ads on the site.

In response to questions, here is some more information:

I currently spend 5 - 10 minutes a few times a week on site maintenance. I use this time to delete sites from the database that aren't appropriate or slip past the spam filters.

Some sites don't contain obvious keyword (i.e. ambien, replica watches, etc) which would be caught by the existing filters, but are promotional in nature or just trashy sites and are hand deleted from the database (easy to do).

I probably hand delete between 2-8 sites a week. The rest (maybe 20-40 / week) are blocked by the existing filters. The site essentially runs itself and the current anti-spam features work very well.

The site is currently hosted on a VPS server at rackforce.com, which runs Windows Server 2003 Std. Ed. (I believe all Windows Server 2003 packages come with IIS).

With the sale, the site will be moved by the company that has done the upgrades (SQL injection, etc.) and moved it for me before. I will ensure total functionality after the move and help the new owner as needed for a reasonable amount of time after the transfer.
