Looking for design review, constructive comments and input for dark theme use on Web Diagnostic. Layout, color mixed/blend, etc.

Web Diagnostic is a free online tool to check PageRank, Validation, SERP, Backlink and other important domain/site properties. Detail, accurate and comprehensive report will shown as a result.

Your constructive comments and inputs will be highly appreciated.

Hello,

I don't mean to sound harsh but your website looks like its from the stone ages of the internet. It really needs a new burst of life to bring it into the Web 2.0 era. The lack of images is the biggest pitfall and the layout seems too squashed to me, everything is really close together. The dancing babies in the processing image that appears upon submission don't really suit either.

I would go for a new logo, new images and better use of colors. There is nothing wrong with dark colors but it is much more difficult finding suitable dark based color palettes and implementing them, as opposed to lighter ones. Check out http://colourlovers.com/ for a good resource for palettes.

Happy new year!

Dave :)

Do you have any suggestion about best image? gear?
I use baby dancing just for fun while waiting the process.

I have it but not attach yet due to my consideration of page loading time.

Thank you for your kindly prompt response and review.

Hello again, it's really nice to meet someone who is willing to take constructive criticism on board. :santa:

Images don't slow down your page if you are using GIF or JPG types. As long as your not using big window bitmap files then you will be fine. For the loading image check out http://ajaxload.info/ for some funky free web 2.0 loading images.

"The layout seems too squashed to me" - What I meant was too cluttered but it seems you have spaced out all the sections much better.

Thanks,

Dave

I like the use of colors but I think a header with a logo would seperate your content. The horizontal buttons at the top get lost.

so, do you think with website's logo on header will make it nicer to see ?

so, do you suggest to have a menu button rather than texts menu ?

Appreciate if you could clarify your comments.

Excuse me for my bad understanding due to my limited capability to read and speak in english.

The site loads on my end.

Graphically and web layout speaking, it looks bad. Too boring. And not a fan of dark background site.

But navigation, functionality and usability seems to be great. Tried some of the tools and it gives a nice and fast result.

You just have to work out the design mate.
