Quite a few .com.co domains with bids on sedo and they have sold in the past for good money.

I went for short, meaningful and brandable.

I know .com.co is not .com.

Currently on Sedo...

Dad.com - 40 bids (minimum bid $300k)

wine.com.co - 6 bids
jobs.com.co - 4 bids
baby.com.co - 3 bids
bee.com.co - 2 bids

And many more with bids.

Please appraise.

Well if that works for you, then continue otherwise stay basic.
Subdomain is hard to sell in my experience.

Well, I have very bad experience from .com.co while I have rather good results with .co and have a couple of dozens good .co

My opinion is that 95% will never sell regardless price. The chances to get $$$$ are less than 1% in the coming 3-5 years but still exists.

Com.co needs to be spanish, so Dad.com.co is worse then Papi or Papa.

It's not a subdomain but a third-level extension (like .co.uk or .com.mx). It's the default extension for businesses in Colombia (before .co was opened at the 2nd level).

Do you think it's pretty worthless?

Maybe you'll find a business in Colombia that can use the acronym DAD. Since it's a ccTLD, knowledge of the local market is a prerequisite to successful investing. I'm not saying it's worthless, but if there is no buyer and you can't use the domain it's almost the same right ? There are few recorded sales in .com.co, so it's hard to appraise since there isn't enough of an established market.

Why are there quite a few bids on Sedo for .com.co? For example, baby.com.co 4 bids. It's not even Spanish for baby.

they can be 10$ bids, you don't know !

Baby is a common English keyword. Like job or news. It can even be branded. It is usable in foreign markets. The interesting question would be how much are the bids.

Isn't Dad a brandable word? It could be a DIY Store, Advice, etc?

Possibly. You just need to find a buyer. I don't know how hard or easy it's going to be.

Thanks for your help. I'm still not sure how valuable this is. Dad.com is selling now, maybe if it goes for a lot it might give it half a chance?
