Been sitting on this for a week or so, and had one offer - from a hoaxer >:(

Is it worth spending $60 on a Sedo appraisal, or is that more than it's worth anyway?

Anyone? I've had a couple of interesting emails about this one, but I'd really like some experts (that's you :p) to give me their views

Call me ignorant but what is the CV suppose to stand for? I see you regd the .net and .info aswell.

I cant see any value in this domain unless CV stands for something I am unaware of.

Dont spend your money on Sedo appraisal - they are worthless.

I must agree...some appraisals can be decent, but there is SO much variation. Asking here on NamePros is one of the best things as you can talk it out with awesome members like bgmv.

In the UK, CV stands for Curriculum Vitae (but everyone just calls it a CV). It's the same as a "resume" in the US - the thing you use when applying for a job, that lists all your previous experience.

1 million searches per month (exact match in Google keywords tool). Just like for resumes, there are plenty of services and products to help people write better CVs.

HTH

Cheers, Jon

not only in the UK its Curriculum Vitae, also in Belgium, France, .... I suppose in whole Europe, what about US?

Problem is, gold has nothing to do with it. What you could set up is a website with CV's pre written for people to modify and send to their next annoying boss. Apart from that, I dont see any other use.

Maybe a gold making website?

Thanks for the input guys - very much appreciated. As joned and killay said, CV is the common abbreviation for Curriculum Vitae, and it's used throughout Europe.. People over here use "gold" to describe the best of something, the cream of the crop, hence CVGold.com could be descriptive of the best CV resources available.. Does that make sense, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Ok, got it. I think the domain itself doesnt hold much value but it does have potential for development and that is where the money is. A site outlining the proper steps to write a great CV could be successful but there is alot of competition out there.

Im afraid the domain isnt very valuable for a few reasons:
1.Nobody is searching for the keywords "CV Gold"
2."CV Gold" is a completely fictitious jumble of words that really doesnt mean anything
3.Who could you sell this domain to? Unless there was a company out there that wanted to start "CV Gold Inc." or a new product this is going to be a tough sell

Cheers,
Ben
