Currently happily parking with Fabulous - Is anything else worth trying?

I've been parking pretty much all my names with Fabulous over the last 8 months and have been pretty happy with them. Domains that get pathetic returns on Sedo or DomainSponsor make much more on Fabulous, and especially for poker and casino names, I've pretty much heard that Fabulous is unbeatable in parking revenues. Is there anyone else here that uses or has used Fabulous and recommends any other parking programs to try out?

I've tried Sedo, Afternic's "house parking", DS, and DomainHop. So far, I like Sedo for keyword targetting but they're horrible for payouts, I didn't like Afternic at all, ditto DS, and while DomainHop can get high clicks, I would have to check every single page after I set it up to make sure the links are relevant, because apparently "Religion: Spirituality" means "personals" in their dictionary, and my clickthrough went down the tubes for a high-traffic religious domain I had (I haven't even tried them since as that struck me as being very unprofessional).

I've heard good things about GoldKey, Trafficz, NameDrive, and SedoPro, but I'd like to hear from someone who has used or uses Fabulous about whether those are all that great in comparison. I never like losing money if I don't have to! I've got names of all shapes and sizes, so if any particular types of names like casino, adult, etc do particularly better elsewhere than Fabulous, I'd like to know!

I'll also note that I do keep a couple names at Sedo, the reason being that they are keyword targetted, so if a domain doesn't intuitively represent a category, but I know what kind of traffic it gets based on links or Archive.org showing what was on it, then I can target the traffic with fitting keywords and get high clickthrough. Also, Sedo doesn't reject names for possible trademark infringement unless they get contacted by the holder, and I've got some that fit that mold that Fabulous won't accept.

Hi,

I've parked links.com with both NameDrive and SedoPro. Links.com is a bit tough to monetize because of the generic character of the name, but it does get an average of about 800 uniques/day. CTR, PPC and RPM are considerably higher at NameDrive than they were at SedoPro so I am sticking with NameDrive for the moment.

I did exchange some email with Fabulous, but they were concerned about the difficulties in monetizing links.com. NameDrive, on the otherhand, is quite aggressive in trying out different custom approaches. They are presently working on a second version of the landing page which will hopefully kick up CTR and PPC even more. Hopefully it will be out this week. In my experiences, NameDrive's customer support is excellent and I believe they are highly motivated. In my case, it has helped out quite a bit.

Hope this helps,
Rich

my opinion is that it is worth trying everything.. even just to confirm that the one you are with now is the best...

Interesting...I may have to try them out for some of my higher traffic names getting bad clickthrough. There are many days when 1 click on 1 visit to a poker name makes more than the 500+ daily uniques of traffic spread across my other names. I know the problem on one of my names is that it's indicative of a hosting site (the name is Host.sh), but the traffic is clearly adult traffic as the site was previously an adult Geocities type of site (free ad-supported adult hosting). The traffic is people going to adult sites that were hosted on Host.sh. Back when it was getting 800-1200 uniques a day, Sedo was allowing for adult keywords on it and it was making $10+ a day (which is a TON for anything parked on Sedo frankly). Then they stopped allowing me to park it using adult keywords. I told Fabulous about the situation when I was moving my names over, and they too didn't allow for it. Well, now the traffic is down to only 100 uniques a day, so it practically doesn't even matter anymore. It's not like I've got a chance to return to $10 days anymore. Still, perhaps I can get something more out of it and some of the others I've got that just aren't getting the clickthrough I would expect. Thanks for your input!

By the way, Links.com is a hell of a name...IMO you really should consider developing it into something rather than having it parked (even though a parking page is almost fitting for it...it's got links!).

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to develop the domain into something more significant. Right now I am waiting to see the next version of the NameDrive landing page. Hopefully, it has a positive impact on click-thrus and revenue as the current customize version has.

If you want to try out NameDrive, I would recommend that you communicate with them your own experiences. They are very responsive and are definitely customer-centric. Let me know how things go for you.

Regards,
Rich

I have to agree with you on that 100%. I've used most almost ever service, with a couple of notable exceptions. As of October last year Fabulous was definetly #2 on my list. Hitfarm came in at #1. DS and Sedo arn't even worth mentioning in my book. GoldKey got broke off in the lock after a great start. We're talking about a 500k/month unique portfolio here. But since then I've been using Klickerz exclusively and making TRIPLE what I was before. Not an ad, just a fact.

Best advice: try them all and then keep on re-testing. I still move a few domains around just to keep watch. And if some one could beat Klickerz I'd have to go there.

Hi Crooky,

NameDrive is good, I use them myself. Clickerz.biz is interesting, it's a co-op. You can check out a bunch of them on my site.

Cheers
