Hi all,

I'm very very new in CSS-P so please forgive me for what could be perceived as appalling ignorance... I've created a layout using rosanda's websolutionarchives tutorial, utilising fireworks MX. Now, what I want to do is to position the GIFs in <DIV> CSS-P tags... What I did was to make a mess out of everything!

All I need is a patient CSS guru who can help me fix up a small part of the mess. Don't worry, its just a few containers. After fixing it up, I'll take a look at the code and find out where I went wrong, and what CSS property I should have used, orfailed to use.

Ok; Please refer to the link below (dwCSS.zip). In it, you'll find two html files and a load of fireworks GIFs. Please fix the half-done default.asp CSS and take a look at what I want to acheive by looking at the design created using tables (layout.htm)...

All I need is a 'demonstration'. All you need to do is to help fix the stuff inside "div#topcontainer". Inside this is around 4 nested <DIV> tags. The gray color ( if you look at layout.htm ) is where I would like to place content such as text, flash and ale that.

I will definitely be very obliged to whoever who cares to help out.

CSS rules, web sites would all the same without it. You can only format so much with HTML. CSS the formatting is pretty much endless you can do alot with it. Make your site run faster and look better.

CSS is my life!

I love CSS. Although its hard to get it to work in diff. browsers, its quite powerful once you use the right rules and configure correctly...

CSS saves you a lot of time. Imagine having to reformat every single page of your website... That would be very messy and time consuming. With CSS you can change the way your entire website looks by modifying one file. Get a book called HTML For the World Wide Web by Elizabeth Castro. It will show you how to effectively use CSS. It has also been rated the number 1 HTML book.

As for the poll question, when comparing CSS to C++, PHP, or Python.... CSS IS A CAKEWALK! ;)

I wouldn't say hard - I've used elements of CSS for some time now, although I still prefer tables for positioning. I don't know where I would be without defining font's, customising buttons, scrollbars an the like tho so... I'm halfway in between I guess ;)
