Edit: Okay i figured some of the stuff out
now the only problem i am having is the width
the div can overflow..i dont want that happen....as u can see...stufff and the text on the main body go beyond there sections

Hey
I took the suggestion of the fellow np'ers and decided to use DIVS instead of tables and i am having some trouble
i have managed to create a header and a footer...however the Content area and navigation area is giving me headaches

Here is the url: http://www.RoundPi.com/vvd
as you can see...the text "stuff" appears somewhere in the middle [horizontally] and i want it to be at the top..but when i add "Padding" in css...the text moves up..but the buttons on the navbar don't work!
also..if i put a long string..it breaks the div and goes outside of the layout!

and then there is navigation area....same problem...it breaks out of the div width and the buttons don't work when i add it
Thanks

OK in firefox, if you make a string thats longer than the width of the element it will overflow automatically. There's nothing you can do about that, besides overflow:hidden, which will just hide the parts of the string that extend beyond the box outline.

IE6- on the other hand, will allow the box to stretch, breaking layouts in many cases and causing unwieldy results. This is the incorrect behavior. A fix for this is to use word-wrap:break-word on the container, which will truncate a word to a new line regardless of whitespace if it risks expanding the container.

you apply it to the column in which you dont want to expand.. and it only affects IE6 (and below)
